Efrain Garcia MD
Dr. Efrain Garcia was born in Cuba and raised on the island of Puerto Rico. After completing his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University, Dr. Garcia attended the Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico where he graduated Cum Laude and was selected to be a member of the Omega Chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
In 1992, Dr. Garcia completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Cabrini Medical Center, an affiliate of New York School of Medicine. Following training in New York City, Dr. Garcia continued his training at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital where in 1995, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine. In 1997 he completed a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases, with an emphasis in HIV care.
After 7 years of a successful practice in Miami Beach, Dr. Garcia opened his new practice in the surroundings of Mercy Hospital where he is proud to provide the highest level of health care available anywhere.
Dr. Garcia is a Board Certified and a Diplomat of both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Infectious Diseases. He is also a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Garcia is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
